On Monday, John Novembre, associate professor in the Department of Human Genetics, was named a 2015 MacArthur Fellow (aka “the genius grant”) for his studies of the evolutionary history and genetic diversity of human populations.
The CEB is a unique interdepartmental graduate student training program dedicated to the study of evolutionary biology. Faculty and students in the program engage in interdisciplinary studies that range from single generations to the entire history of life, from a molecular to a global scale. With a geologist, microbiologist, computational biologist and paleontologist raking in the honors, we can’t think of a better way to show off the diversity and vitality of researchers in the CEB. Congratulations!
