Congratulations to CEB 5th year student Heather Skeen, on the recent publication of an article she co-authored, "Comparative Analyses of Vertebrate Gut Microbiomes Reveal Convergence between Birds and Bats," published in mBio, the journal of The American Society for Microbiology.

We are pleased to recognize Joe Thorton, who was one of the winners of the 2019 Friend of Darwin award, presented by the National Center for Science Education. Joe received this honor because of his important and influential research on the evolution of genes and the proteins they code for.
